I'll see it if I get to see Paris Hilton bite the dust! DIE BITCH DIE!
opinions on paris and modern tech aside, some classics only work as period pieces... I just can't see that being spooky with any aspect of "today" involved in it... Same with the Kong remake, it's gonna suck cuz the concept is so dated it won't work... Godzilla anyone?

Yup-didn't read it all, but this is Dark Castle's next film due out for halloween.
Everyone should see "Mystery Of the Wax Museum" (1933) w/Fay Wray & (the great) Lionel Atwill....
that's the real original-and the best of the lot~
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Unlike the original, this new incarnation features Paris and teen-company as a group of friends who take a wrong turn and get stuck in an abandoned town -- with psychopaths who turn their victims into wax figures for their killer exhibit!
Paris learned there's more than meets the eye to being a "scream queen," like remote locations, long hours and scraped knees! "We're in the middle of nowhere and there's bugs everywhere -- I'm actually running through the forest in bare feet, and it hurts!"![]()

True. A lot of people were not fond of it, but I thought "The House on Haunted Hill" remake was very well done. It doens't exactly compare with the original because they chose to make a couple of fairly drastic changes from the original plot, but I think it compliments and is respectful toward the original, and suceeds well enow on its own.
...on the other hand...
...the remake of "The Haunting" was ABSO-FUCKING-LUTE SHIT. Jeezuz, that film was so bad it fucking hurt. And gave no props to the original--which is an excellent, excellent film--whatsoever.
*crosses fingers and hopes for it to bomb*
As I read that Paris Hilton is going to be in it,
I'm finding an odd physical reaction..kind of a twitch in the sphincter and...PLFFFFTTTTT!!!!
oops! I guess that was it
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Godzilla is a bad example, because America has ALWAYS fucked up Godzilla and other kaiju films. The old films are badly dubbed/translated, and cut to all hell. In Japan, Godzilla films were going stong, and doing great. There was no need to Remake Godzilla. All they did was make a Jurassic Park in New York movie. It wasn't even really a Godzilla film, and any real Godzilla fan will tell you the same. That was just pure horse shit.Originally posted by Joranthalus:

Replace "country" with "era" and you get the same effect. Godzilla can be made by the Japanese forever. It's not a period piece, but more of a culture piece...
